WYP Protocol: Coronavirus

We at Wilderness Youth Project are thankful for all the good people pulling together to protect and support one another. While we are being discouraged from coming together physically, this is absolutely a time to come together as a community and do what we can to support each other in alternative meaningful ways.

Following the lead of the Santa Barbara Unified School District, Wilderness Youth Project’s programs will be canceled during school district closures, which is starting Monday, March 16 through at least Friday, April 3. We will greatly miss these spring days outdoors with your children and encourage you to get out there and jump in some mud puddles and get fresh air.

What WYP is doing

All Wilderness Youth Project staff will get paid at their regular rate for at least thru April 15, 2020. This includes the week before and after spring break. If you can, please consider donating the program fees you have paid for future programming and help us support these incredible mentors and leaders who guide your children. We are also committed to  supporting you, our families, as we recognize that everyone in the community has experienced challenges related to the pandemic.

Program Fee Info

If you wish to request a refund for the missed days of program, simply email ertvfgene@fgntr.jlc.bet with the participant’s name and we will take care of processing the refund. Please bear with us if our refund and response process is slow, as we are running with a skeleton crew at this time.

With wishes for your health, safety and resilience,
Wilderness Youth Project
