WYP offices have moved!

We are pleased to announce that our team has moved our “HQ” office space from Goleta to Santa Barbara. 

We spent over 15 years in the building on Hollister Avenue and our old office served us well.  While we’ve made great memories, tracked in lots of dirt and laughter, we couldn't be more excited about our new upgraded space.

The new office is an upstairs suite neighboring The Riviera Theater in the Riviera Business Park, putting us right along Alameda Padre Serra (APS).

We're excited about the mountain views out one side of the office and the ocean views off of the patio that faces APS. There are also many open spaces within easy walking distance of the new location.

While we were happy with our old space, there were several motivating factors to make a move:

• Cost. A generous longtime partner is subsidizing our rent, which gives us the best of both worlds: a wonderful space to work in, and a rent cost that is within reach of a non-profit budget.
• Space. When we first moved into our Hollister office, there were only a handful of us and plenty of room.  Now there are 15 full-time HQ staff and space was getting tight. The new office offers more square footage, but more importantly, it allowed us to rethink our layout.  We have been able to work together to co-create an intentional space that will serve us for years to come.  Overall, we now have more of an open plan so we're all working closer together rather than a more dispersed layout at our last place. There is also plenty of parking not only for our staff, but also to relocate 8 of our 13 vans.
• Gathering. In our last office, we did not have much space to host and gather.  While we really liked utilizing our neighbors at Crushcakes as extended meeting space, we now have space to gather in small and larger groups.  Our new space also has a conference room that we will be able to open for other nonprofit partner organizations. 
• Location. This new space feels like it was gently set down in nature. The natural light, the views, and the surrounding open areas feel like we are bringing more of our mission to our offices. 

Over the last 23 years we have called a few different office locations home, and we look at this new location as the start of another chapter in our history.  We're still working on getting settled in and adding plants, artwork, and our own WYP touches to the office, but we're incredibly excited to be in the new space.  We'll be hosting an open house soon for all our friends, and if you're in the area, feel free to stop in and say hi!
